Turned in an outstanding baseball career for Eastern Michigan University from 1967-70...Earned first-team NAIA All-American honors in 1970 and was named honorable mention in 1969... Captain of the 1970 team that won the NAIA National Championship and was named the NAIA Tournament's "Most Valuable Player" and EMU's MVP... Finished his career with a .342 batting average with nine home runs and 76 RBI... the EMU team was 101-36 while he played... Went on to become a world-class softball player and was a member of the 1980 World Champion Midland... McArdle's fast-pitch softball team that also captured the National Championship in 1979... Was a five-time All-American Softball Player (1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980)... Drafted in 1970 by the Philadelphia Phillies... Names the "Most Valuable Player" in the 1979 ASA National Fastpitch Tournament and was elected to the ASA Michigan Softball Hall of fame that same season.
