Turned in solid basketball season in 1949-50 when he had back-to-back 22-point scoring performances against Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois... Finished the 1950-51 season with 174 points... Competed in a host of events during the track season... Went on to earn a master's degree in physical therapy from New York University in 1953 and a doctor of osteopathic medicine and surgery degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Names EMU's Most Distinguished Alumni in 1993... Selected into the Detroit Western High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1989... Won the state of Michigan senior amateur golf title in 1987... Names the recipient of the Agustus Calloway Award presented by Southwest Detroit Hospital... Earned the rank of Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Corps.
