Competed in both basketball and tennis for EMU... Captain of the 1952 tennis and basketball teams... Went on to enjoy an outstanding career as a teacher and coach... Spent 25 years on the staff at Henry Ford Community College... Led the Henry Ford C.C. tennis teams to 15 league championships, eight regional crowns, and national title in 1965 and a second-place finish at the 1967 national tournament... Served as president of the National Tennis Coaches Association in 1967-68... Also coached swimming and basketball at Henry Ford... In five years as the head swimming coach, Henry Ford won five league titles, a national junior college championship, and one national invitational title... Named National J.C. Swimming Coach of the Year in 1970.
