Mainstay on the pitching staff that helped EMU win the Mid-American Conference and Mid-East Regional Championships in both 1975 and 1976... Helped lead the EMU baseball team to a second-place finish at the 1976 NCAA College World Series and a fifth-place finish at the 1975 Series... Pitched a perfect game against the University of Detroit on May 23, 1976... threw a no-hitter at Central Michigan on April 24, 1976... First-team All-Mid-American Conference selection in 1975 and 1976... Named to the United States Federation team in 1976... First-round draft choice of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1977 Major League Baseball draft... Starting pitcher for the Dodgers from 1978-87... Won Major League Baseball's top pitching award when he was named the winner of the Cy Young Award in 1990 as a member of the Oakland Athletics...
