Lettered in gymnastics from 1963-66, in men's track in 1964 and 1965 and in cheerleading in 1963 and 1964...Was the NAIA and district champion in the still rings three times and placed 11th in that event at the NAIA Championship...Served as gymnastics team captain in 1963 and 1964 and was a co-captain in 1965...Earned four varsity gymnastics letters...Earned two letters for track and placed fourth in the pole vault at the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) meet in 1965...Also served as the co-captain of the cheer team in 1964...Earned a campus leadership award in 1964 for the Men's Union...Went on to become a biology professor at EMU for 42 years...Went on to compete in Masters Track and was the 2009 champion pole vaulter and was ranked second in the world for his age group (65-69)...Won numerous other awards on the Masters level in track.
