Cleared 7' 6.5" in the high jump, the highest ever by a state of Michigan collegian...Three-time All-America, placing third at the NCAA indoor championships...Nieto won the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2004 with an Olympic Trials record of  7-feet-7.75 inches to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. He jumped 7' 8" in the Olympics, the same height as the second-place competitor, but finished just out of winning a medal, in fourth place because of misses in the earlier rounds of jumping...Two-time Mid-American Conference indoor champion...Placed fifth in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials...Placed in the USTFF national meet three times...Also won several Central Collegiate Conference titles and was Most Valuable Performer in the CCC's one time...Still competing on the international scene and is one of the top high jumpers in the U.S.
