Earned four football letters and two varsity wrestling letters for EMU from 1960-63...In addition to being a position player in football he also handled the place-kicking duties for the football team...Currently in his 12th year (2009) as an assistant football coach at the University of Iowa (through 2008 season)...Earned his B.S. in special educaiton in 1965 and his M.A. in P.E. in 1967...Started his coaching career at Ypsilanti St. John's H.S. in 1965 and joined the EMU FB staff in 1968 as the linebackers coach...Also coached in the collegiate ranks as an assistant football coach at Wake Forest, Minnesota, Illinois, East Carolina, Michigan state, Vanderbilt and Iowa.  Recommended highly by former coaching assistants Dick Moseley (a Hall of Famer) and Nick Coso...Was a finalist for the National NCAA Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year Award in both 2004 and 2005.
