Competed in football, basketball, baseball, and track as a collegian... Went on to serve the university as a registrar from 1909-49... Known as the "Flying Quarterback" in college, earning the name when his offensive backfield teammates would throw him through the air with the ball near the goal line for a touchdown... When he was named registrar he was the first full-time registrar in a college west of the Allegheny Mountains... The Class of 1919 dedicated the Aurora Yearbook to him... During his 44 years of EMU service, he won a variety of honors, including the Alumni Association Award... A bronze bust sculptured from like was accepted by the Alumni Association as a gift and is displayed in McKenny Union on the EMU campus.
