Was All-State in 1942, All-CCC in 1946 and All-American in 1948...After Eastern he had a very successful career coaching boys' cross country and track at Wyandotte Rosevelt High School (Michigan)...Had a record of 122 wins and 25 losses...He was assistant coach of track and cross country at Eastern from 1967 until 1980.
