Was a standout trackman from 1926-28... Captain of the 1928 track team that won the Michigan Intercollegiate Conference championship... Set school records for the discus, shot put and hammer throw... Won the triathlon competition at the Ohio State Relays in both 1926 and 1927... Worked as a trainer and assistant track coach at Eastern from 1928-37... Served as the trainer for the 1942 Rose Bowl champion Oregon State football team... Was the organizer and first chairman of the Corvallis (Oregon) Recreation Commission.
