Three-year track letterman... Ran on undefeated mile relay team that also won United States mile relay title at the Penn Relays... Central Collegiate Conference low hurdle champion twice... Intramural middleweight wrestling champion three times and boxing once. Won State AAU low hurdle championship at age 36... Known as "Father of Women's Track and Field" in Michigan... Started Michigan's first AAU age group women's track team... Coached the first State of Michigan women member of the United States Olympic team in 1968 and 1972... Coached the University of Michigan women's varsity track team before retiring with professor emeritus status... Won five gold medals in the Senior Olympics at the age of 80.
