Three-time Mid-American Conference one-meter diving champion in 1974, 1975, and 1976... Set a MAC record with 464.78 points in the one-meter diving competition at the 1974 MAC Championship... Won the Three-Meter Diving MAC Title and set the Kent State pool record in 1974... Named co-captain of the 1974-75 team... Three-time NCAA National Championship Qualifier in 1974, 1975 and 1976... Selected as team Most Valuable Player for the 1974-1975 season... Recorded an EMU Team Diving Record for six dives on the three-meter with 334.75 points... Finished 37th in the three-meter event and 44th in the one-meter competition at the NCAA National Championship in 1976... In 1977, he went on to coach at the University of Wyoming (1977-1984) and Kansas University (1984-1989), earning Big Eight Conference Diving Coach of the Year twice... Established the Tri-City Diving Club (for Midland, Saginaw, and Bay City areas) in the early 90's, serving as the head diving coach; producing two State Champions and three All-Americans... Competed in the IVth World Master's Swimming and Diving Championship placing seventh in the one-meter and sixth in the three-meter diving competitions... Became a five-time Master's National Champion for the 40-45 age group.
