Jason Duane Jones came into Eastern playing tight end, but soon realized his home was on the defensive line. In his senior season, he led the MAC with 1.63 tackles for losses per game. In the 2007 season, the Eagles traveled to Vanderbilt where Jason racked up four TFLs. Piling up 18 quarterback hurries, that places Jason in the number five spot in Eastern’s record books. He ranks second in EMU history with 50.0 TFLs and seventh in sacks with 14.0. Northwestern was a memorable game for him as he notched five TFLs, the second-most in a single game in Eastern’s history. The Tennessee Titans selected Jason in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. In his first season as a Titan, he totaled 31 tackles and 5 sacks. After three seasons with the Titans, Jason went on to play for the Seattle Seahawks, the Detroit Lions, and the Miami Dolphins. During his professional career, Jason recorded 212 tackles. He was a clear threat to quarterbacks with his record of 10 forced fumbles, 26 pass deflections, and 31.5 sacks. Jason continues to give back to the University as a member of the Champions Advisory Board.
