Charles Thomas had a remarkable four years at Eastern Michigan. This four-time letterwinner proved that he was a key member to the team. Playing in 109 games with 42 starts, he helped bring his team to a record of 84-40. Having helped bring home the MAC Title, Charles had an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Tournament. He started in three games in his postseason career, during which he scored a combined total of 28 points. His senior season, Charles went above and beyond. He was awarded EMU’s Most Improved and Defensive Player at the conclusion of the 1990-91 season. During his time as an Eagle, Charles racked up 710 points with 347 rebounds. Finishing with 241 assists, that puts him in the Top 20 in Eastern’s record books. After graduating from Eastern in 2000, Charles pursued his professional career with the Detroit Pistons. He departed professional athletics following his first season. Along with his brother, Carl Thomas, he is currently an assistant men’s basketball coach at Duquesne under former Eagle, Keith Dambrot.
