Served as an EMU athletics administrator from 1970-76 and 1991-2003...From 1970-76 she served as a physical education instructor and became the first women's athletics director in 1975...Coached EMU's women's tennis and women's swimming teams ...Helped the athletics department begin the first women's athletic scholarship program...Left EMU in 1976 to become an associate athletics director at Bowling Green State University, and was the first NCAA Division I women's administrator responsible for 21 men's and women's teams and also served briefly as the interim athletics director...Returned to EMU in 1991 as a senior women's athletics administrator, a position she held until her retirement, May 16, 2003...Served as EMU's interim athletics director from 1997-99...Participated on several AIAW and NCAA national committees, including the NCAA's long-range planning committee...Appointed the AIAW commissioner of national championships...Also served as the executive director of the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
