Outstanding men's gymnastics competitor who earned four varsity letters from 1967-71...One of three brothers in the Mills family to become outstanding gymnasts and brother, Randy, is also a member of the EMU Athletic Hall of Fame...Served as captain of the EMU gymnastics team for three consecutive years (1968-71)...Named second-team NAIA All-American as a senior all-around performer in 1970-71...Finished third in floor exercise, fourth in all around and fifth in the horizontal bar at the 1970-71 NAIA national championship meet...Also helped lead EMU to the Lake Erie League title in 1970-71...Recorded team bests in the floor exercise (8.95), parallel bars (9.10), horizontal bars (9.05) and all around (51.90) during that 1970-71 season...Tied for best on the team in horizontal bars in 1969-70 with an 8.70 score and was second for EMU in the all around at the national championship meet with a 45.10 score...Helped lead the EMU team to a second-place finish in the 1969-70 NAIA national championships...Helped lead EMU to the 1971 Great Lakes Gymnastics League title...Was an outstanding high school gymnast at Taylor Kennedy and went on to coach at Trenton where he coached 12 high school All-Americans...Taught middle school in Trenton for 28 years before retiring to run Mills Gymnastics Central training school.
