Was a member of the varsity basketball team from 1977-82 and also served as EMU's Athletics Marketing/Promotions Director from 1982-84... Earned three varsity basketball letters (1980, '81, '82) and was an All-Mid-American Conference honorable mention selection in 1982... Chosen as the captain of the men's basketball team three times... Scored 804 points with 453 rebounds during his EMU career... Named to the All-Tournament team at the Siena (NY) College Tournament in 1980-81... Played in the World Master's competitions for the United States in Brisbane, Australia (1994) and Portland, Oregon (1998) and helped lead the team to gold medals in both events... Played in the first-ever Mid-American Conference Legends game as part of the MAC Post-Season Tournament in 1998... Worked on the EMU Athletic Department Campaign for Championships fund raiser and was an original member of the Fastbreak Open basketball booster group... Has served on the boards of the Rainbow Connection and the Huron Valley Boys and Girls Clubs... Received the Catholic League's Coaches' Association "Athlete of the Year" award in 1981 as an outstanding graduate of Detroit DeLaSalle High School.
