Helped lead EMU to its first Mid-American Conference men's basketball championship and first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament appearance in 1988. He was the Most Valuable Player in the Mid-American Conference that season and has gone on to play in 698 National Basketball Association (NBA) games the past 10 seasons and is currently a member of the Detroit Pistons basketball club.
